Piastri Blazes to Pole – Norris & Verstappen Miss the Mark
What a session under the lights of Sakhir! During today’s F1 qualifying for the Bahrain Grand Prix 2025, Oscar Piastri pulled off a surprise masterclass, clocking a stunning 1:29.841 to grab pole position – on the weekend of his 50th Grand Prix start!
Piastri On Top – But What Happened to Norris & Verstappen?
While McLaren was celebrating with one car, the other had a tougher time. Lando Norris, currently leading the championship, could only manage P6 – not ideal, but still within striking distance. Even worse for Max Verstappen, who will start P7 after a surprisingly quiet performance.
Antonelli Impresses – Ocon Crashes – Gasly Solid in P5
Rookie sensation Andrea Kimi Antonelli was one of the standouts today, qualifying P4 in only his third Formula 1 race weekend – huge for Mercedes. Meanwhile, Esteban Ocon caused a red flag in Q2 with a crash, but thankfully walked away unharmed.
And let’s talk about Pierre Gasly – quietly but confidently put his Alpine on P5. A strong result that shows the Frenchman’s consistency and sharp one-lap pace. He could be a real threat in tomorrow’s race if he nails the start.
